Who it's for

Any business where a client takes a time slot with a person. Here is how it fits the ones we hear from most.

A stylist painting balayage color onto a client’s hair with a brush and foil

Hair salons

Long color services next to short cuts, each stylist with their own hours, and a colorist who doesn't do men's cuts. Buffers give time to sweep up and mix color. A deposit on color and balayage covers the product you'd lose on a no-show.

Example: balayage, 3 hours plus a 15-minute buffer, 25% deposit, only with Maya or Priya.

A barber doing a skin fade with clippers, combs and clippers laid out on the counter

Barbershops

Short services, fast turnover, walk-ins mixed in. Clients pick their barber or take whoever is free first. A small deposit on Saturday mornings, none on a line-up.

Example: haircut, 30 minutes plus 5, $10 deposit; kids cut, no deposit.

A nail technician in gloves painting a client’s nails a deep raspberry color

Nail, lash and brow studios

One chair, one person, and every no-show is a lost hour. Deposits on full sets, a fill window for regulars, and reminders that include your aftercare or prep notes.

Example: lash full set, 2 hours, $30 deposit, cancel up to 48 hours before.

A client doing a kettlebell squat in a small gym while her trainer takes notes

Personal trainers

Sessions at a gym, a park or a client's home. Buffers cover travel between locations. Clients book their regular slot without texting you every week.

Example: 1-on-1 session, 60 minutes plus 30 minutes travel, paid in full when booking.

A tutor and a teenager working through a math worksheet at a wooden table

Tutors

After-school hours, parents booking for their kids, and subjects split between teachers. Parents pay when they book and get the reminder; the student gets the time.

Example: SAT prep, 90 minutes, with Mr. Okafor or Ms. Carter, 12 hours' notice.

A house cleaner wiping a kitchen counter, a caddy of cleaning supplies beside her

House cleaners

Jobs of different lengths by home size, travel between houses, and teams instead of single people. Clients book an arrival time, and you keep the address and gate code on file.

Example: 3-bedroom clean, 3 hours plus 45 minutes travel, $40 deposit.

Spanish-speaking clients

Every client books and gets reminders in English or Spanish. Useful anywhere in the US, and in South Florida most of all.

Example: the same reminder goes out as "Reminder" or "Recordatorio" depending on the client.

And others

Massage therapists, dog groomers, photographers, music teachers, mobile car detailers, tattoo artists, tax preparers in season. If clients book a time with a person, it fits.
